Eric Newland
Vice President

Eric Newland brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the Paddy Hopkirk Memorial Foundation Inc., blending his professional experience in creative storytelling with a lifelong love of Mini Coopers.
As the founder of Hybrid Moon, Eric has spent years helping companies conceptualize and produce video content that captivates audiences and differentiates brands in the competitive marketplace.
Eric’s enthusiasm with Minis began in childhood, growing up in a family that relied on these iconic cars for economical transportation during the gas shortages of the 1970s. His first car purchase was a 1967 Austin Mini, and his very first accessory for it, a Paddy Hopkirk Throttle Pedal, cemented his admiration for the motorsport legend. Inspired by his father, an avid racing enthusiast, Eric grew up hearing the story of Paddy Hopkirk’s “David vs. Goliath” victory at the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally, a tale that fueled his enduring respect for both Paddy and the car he made famous.
Eric has had the privilege of meeting Paddy on several occasions, including visits to Paddy’s home at Parsonage Farm, and has cherished the opportunity to bring Paddy’s legacy to life in the U.S. As president of the Oregon Mini Society, Eric played a key role in coordinating Paddy’s visit to Mini Meet West 2018 and the 2019 All British Field Meet at Portland International Raceway, events that celebrated Mini’s storied history and enduring appeal.
